SeaWorld Announces Reopening Plans for 3 Parks

Three SeaWorld parks are ready to open on June 11, 2020. SeaWorld Orlando, Aquatica Orlando and Discovery Cove will be reopening with capacity limitations and temporarily modified hours of operation. The modified hours for the three parks are:

SeaWorld Orlando

  • Thursday, June 11: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm – reopening day

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm

  • Closed Tuesdays and Thursdays until further notice

Aquatica Orlando

  • Thursday, June 11: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm – reopening day

  • Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

  • Closed Mondays and Wednesdays until further notice

Discovery Cove Orlando

  • Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday by reservation

The SeaWorld parks have been closed for more than two months and in that time, SeaWorld says they have “worked with state and local officials, third party medical and epidemiology experts, and attraction industry leaders to enhance our strict sanitation and cleanliness standards,” they said in a recent email.

Their plan, which SeaWorld shared the details of in a document, addresses guest and employee safety in six main ways:

  1. Employee and guest temperature screening

  2. Physical distancing

  3. Cleaning and sanitation

  4. Face coverings

  5. Work and sick policies

  6. COVID-19 training

And though their parks were closed for some time, SeaWorld’s animal conservation and rehabilitation efforts did not stop. SeaWorld San Diego’s animal care team rescued seven California sea lions, one northern elephant seal, one harbor seal and three shorebirds, and SeaWorld Orlando returned two manatees and three sea turtles back into the wild after rehabilitating them.
