Rule of 3 Cs

10 Tips & "3 Cs" rule that will help you to make more bookings and close more deals:


1. Honestly, family and friends are not your target audience. Save yourself the disappointment by not expecting them to support you.

2. Focus on customer service. Be responsive. Because of your service, most of your clients will be repeat customers or come from referrals. Your bread and butter will be the customer service you provide.

3. Educate yourself on the destinations that you are trying to sell. Take time to use your host agency's resources and the vendor's agent education courses.

4. Take time to actually travel. Clients find it harder to trust someone to book their travel when you don’t go anywhere. Go on FAM trips to become familiar with new destinations and resorts.

5. Go to trade shows. Network with more experienced agents and create content while you are there to show your clients that you are active in the industry.

6. Connect with BDMs (Business Development Managers) from the cruise lines or resorts you sell. This gives you an advantage because when your clients are going on a trip, the BDM typically provides incentives or perks, which makes you look good as an agent.

7. If your Facebook or Instagram page is private, switch it to public. A person should be able to click on your page and immediately tell you are a travel agent. You should utilize the pinned post feature on your page. It should include what you do, what you sell, and any applicable links for your business. Also, include any pictures from travel or any popular reels or reviews made by your clients.

8. Remain consistent. You should post about your business or travel-related content on social media platforms daily.

9. Anytime you book someone, you should post a" Just Booked" flyer. Also, if you quote someone, you should be making a post about it, even if they don’t book the trip. The point is to advertise the destination.

10. Write a list of destinations and then narrow down 3-5 resorts to choose from each destination. This will help you cut down your research time when it’s time to quote someone. Utilize TikTok, TripAdvisor, and YouTube to vet and research each resort.


It is easy to become discouraged, but always remember the "Three Cs" rule:
